Branka Surla

We are a family of keen and enthusiastic stitchers who have totally immersed ourselves in designing unique needlepoint and cross stitch art since lockdown. Since our parents came over from Eastern Europe, we have been heavily inspired by home crafting, folk art and the Arts & Crafts movement, especially needlework. Jelena makes clothes (including tailored suits and wedding dresses), knits, crochets, makes tapestries and exquisite handmade lace from the finest silks; Smeeka works on cross-stitch, knitting, bead work, embroidery and needlepoint pictures or tapestries, and Branka has painted most of her life and has completed several tapestries and recently been quilting. Together we have become a micro-factory and have designed many tapestry designs for cushions, pictures and greeting cards. It has been a dream of ours for over 20 years to create works of art. We hope you enjoy our art as much as we have enjoyed designing and making it!
