Richard Allen

I am an artist based in Heage, Derbyshire. I paint in predominantly watercolour and acrylics. The inspiration for my paintings are the Derbyshire countryside, trees, rocks and the sea. I love the lovely colours and textures that acrylics provide whether the painting is based on a specific place or a more abstract representational piece . My watercolours are generally fairly small and loose in style. I strive to achieve something atmospheric or moody rather than a true representation of a location.
