Marie Keane

I am a Derbyshire printmaker living in Cromford. My lino, mono and screen prints are handprinted and are inspired by local wildlife in rural and urban settings. I love to use a variety of traditional carving tools alongside other markmaking resources eg a dremel. Organic patterns, textures and markmaking are a key feature. I love to experiment with mixed printmaking techniques on different surfaces, textile, wood and paper. My rural childhood in Ireland and walks in Derbyshire are a stark contrast to living in Birmingham for 15 years. A WEA course in printmaking without a press started my printmaking journey.
