Working predominantly in watercolour I began my practice in 2011 studying under a private tutor for some time. My dragonfly image was inspired by a visit to the Hoe Grange Nature Reserve in September, which took a while to find, but I was given directions by some kindly locals to this well hidden gem!
My perseverance was rewarded when I caught sight of this beautiful specimen and after some research I concluded it was a female Common Hawker. She stayed long enough for some quick photos and convinced me she would be the subject for my submission.
